High Museum of Art - Also colloquially known as The High, the museum, located on Peachtree Street in Atlanta’s Art District, Midtown, was founded in 1905 as the Atlanta Art Association. It includes more than 15000 pieces of artwork, from across seven collecting areas, some of which include European Art, African Art, modern and contemporary art, and decorative arts and design, to name a few. Renaissance and Baroque paintings and sculptures, Late medieval Italian paintings, Italian Renaissance paintings and the 18th, 19th and 20th century paintings from various famous, as well as some not so well-known artists are at display here.
